Saint Sharbel Makhlouf was a Lebanese monk who lived in the 19th century. He is known for his extraordinary holiness and intercession, and has been credited with numerous miracles.

Sharbel was born in Bekaa Kafra, Lebanon, in 1828. He was the fifth of six children born to poor farmers. From a young age, Sharbel showed signs of great piety and devotion. He would often spend his days in prayer and meditation, and he had a deep love for the Eucharist.
