The Rise And Fall Of SST Records: A Grunge Odyssey Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise And Fall Of SST Records

By Greg Prato

SST Records was one of the most important independent record labels of the 1980s and 1990s. Founded in 1978 by Greg Ginn, SST released some of the most iconic albums of the era, including Black Flag's Damaged, Hüsker Dü's Zen Arcade, and Dinosaur Jr.'s You're Living All Over Me. SST's roster also included such influential acts as Minutemen, Meat Puppets, and Sonic Youth.

In his new book, The Rise and Fall of SST Records, Greg Prato tells the full story of this groundbreaking label. Based on exclusive interviews with Ginn and other key figures, Prato chronicles SST's rise to the top of the underground music scene and its eventual decline. The book is filled with never-before-seen photos and documents, making it an essential read for fans of SST Records and the grunge era.
