One day, Angelique finds a job at a bakery. It's a small, family-run business, and the owner, Monsieur Claude, is a kind and compassionate man. He takes Angelique under his wing and teaches her the art of baking.

Angelique discovers that she has a natural talent for baking. She loves the precision of it, the way that she can transform simple ingredients into something beautiful and delicious. And she loves the way that her cakes bring people together.

As Angelique's baking skills improve, she begins to regain her confidence. She starts to believe that she can rebuild her life, one cake at a time.

But the past is never far away. Angelique's memories of the genocide still haunt her, and she struggles to come to terms with what she has lost. But through her work at the bakery, she finds a way to channel her pain into something positive.

Baking Cakes in Kigali is a novel of resilience and redemption. It is a story about the power of hope and the strength of the human spirit. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
